If its similar to the XM you can get the the ones over the axle by dropping the rear subframe one side, quite an easy job, I then cut the offending piece of pipe out an spliced another piece in using the pipe, fittings and tool from Pleaides.

Thanks Peter N, how easy is it to lower the subframe on these? never done anything like that, and how much access can you get with one side lowered?

I can only speak with experience of the XM, that has two large bolts each side of the subframe, slacken of by a few turns the ones on the opposite side to the one you want to drop, put a jack under the one you are dropping, take the weight then remove the bolts on that side and lower it, the pipes have enough give in them to allow you to be able to see in and get your hands there.
