Xantia Alarms

Post by landcrab »

The alarm on my 1999 S2 Xantia Estate goes off at the slightest gust of wind.
How can I disable it so it never goes off again???

Why are alarms fitted to cars anyway?.Does anybody ever take any notice when they go off?

On my old ZX it was simply a matter of inserting the key into a switch under the bonnet and turning it off.The Xantia does not appear to have such a switch!

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Bryan.

The false alarms are more than likely due to duff ultrasonic sensors, you can disable them when you get out of the car by pressing the button on the right side of the dash, if you want to turn off the alarm you'll need someone with a Lexia to do that.

What happens if you just unplug one or other of the ultrasonic devices?

Thanks for the prompt replies. Where do I find the Ultrasonic Sensors.
Or maybe there is a fuse that can be removed!!

If it's the sensors that are faulty then that should stop the alarm going off.

If you remove the fuse you will likley loose everything else controled by the CPH. C/locking, interior lighting & the imobiliser.
