The 1.6 HDI 110 does have a FAP in the Xsara Picasso. I think it did in all the PSA cars.

I'm not sure if swapping an engine entitles you to a road tax reassessment. In the same way as chipping your engine doesn't either.

I consistently get more mpg than the official combined figure, maybe they should give me lower tax too?
Currently driving a 2004 C5 VTR (old shape) and an Electric Kia Soul. Sorry but the electric one is my favourite!

Ah right, i know the C5 1.6HDi 110 in 'DESIGN' spec does not have a FAP filter or so the Citroen information says.

Try getting an insurance quote first - mainstream insurers take a very dim view of this sort of change for some reason.... I'm pretty sure you will need a donor car for all the bits and pieces, and even then getting all the ECUs to talk to one another will be a challenge. The saving on the tax will be small, the fuel saving not so small, but then that depends on how many miles it's doing anually. Probably the cheapest route in the long run will be to stick a new HG in the petrol and run it till it dies (again!).

The Post Office insurance was VERY easy for my Customer!!

He phoned them, and they seemed happy enough that though the car was being converted from Petrol to Diesel, they were happy to hear its still a Citroen engine and that was enough for them, and they insured it as a DERV.. Just need to sort the Log book, and get the chnages made to it..
