xantia on ebay

I have seen an Xantia for sale , on ebay . it"s 10 miles away !
The green Xantia"s engine management light has come - on , lots of black smoke and won"t run propely .
Is it worth a look , and any ideas , what"s wrong !
Any advice greatfully received ,

It"s an 1.9 turbo LX ,

Could be the needle lift sensor on the injector has died.
Would need a new injector with sensor if that's the case.
Makes the engine sound like a bag of nails.

i had a simmalar problem with my synergie ( Same engine) turned out to be the timing belt had slipped a tooth once replace the engine management light whent out but dodgy timing cause all sorts of other problems

also could be a fuel supply problem to all injectors.. for example on my TD, I can get the EM light when the £3 fuel filter needs changing.. due to running on fuels other than DERV
