New Car New Question

Post by Alec B »

Well as you can see the Xantia has gone to which I may add, I and my family are gutted to say the least. But due to a number of things going wrong we decided it was time for a change. So we have got a Picasso which we are slowly warming to but I do miss that suspension. Anyway quick question the Picasso comes with a Plipper key and a normal key. Does anyone have any idea how much it will cost to add another plipper key?

With Access to a Lexia prgramming the RF PLIPPER to open and close the car is Simple!!

As for the Chip in the key to start the car, thats a bit harder and Ive not got that far yet.. Somewere on here, is a "Lexia Owners" map thats been drawn up, there could be a user near you willig to help..

I like the Xsara Picassos and the VTX is a nicely spec too. How are you finding it? The 1.6 is a pretty good diesel engine.

If your wanting a new key then your best off asking your dealer what the cost will be, no doubt well into the hundreds. You could buy a key from ebay and get it coded and a new blade, as long as you have access to a Lexia and can find somewhere to cut the key.

Does your Picasso have an alarm? Usually when an alarm is standard fit the car comes with two remote keys.

Thanks guys, just spoke to Citroen who have quoted about 120 quid
so may give that a little thought and see how we get on without 2 plippers. As for the car, I must say i'm warming to it very quickly (it helps having a soft spot for Citroens) I was dubious about the 92 bhp engine but it is higher geared than the 90 bhp Xantia lump so found cruising back from the garage at 80 a dream (sorry 70 :!: ). It is also very comfy for normal suspension I was also thinking it would look and feel outdated but it drives nicely and looks very smart in charcoal grey, although I don't know how long it will stay shiny for. Our xantia hadn't been washed for about 18 months  .
