Cabin Fuse Box door

Post by MikeT »

Does anyone know if and how the cabin fusebox door can be removed without risk of breaking the hinges? It gets in the way when using the diagnostic connector.

Answering my own question, it seems they're metal pins for hinges, no easy way to remove it

Because the dash board on ours has been apart for a couple of months following the blower packing in, I can't remember as well as I'd like.....

I don't remember the fusebox cover being that close to the diagnostics socket though.

If you're sitting in the car doing the diagnostics you had to be careful not to kick it when you needed out though.

You're quite right David, it doesn't interfere with the socket and plug, it interferes with my right foot

I want drive it with the lexia connected so my assistant can read the live parameters.

ahh....

That bottom panel does come right off.

It's about 3 torx screws if memory serves me right. Then the 4 clips that hold that little bit of carpet to the plastic.

That bit of carpet is enough to drive you nuts though. It keeps falling on my feet!

Do you mean the surround comes off, with the door? I saw two torx screws but am not as flexible as I once was so didn't search for the rest. I'll get my nephew to do that for me, if I can't.

From what I remember, there are four torx screws around the opening for the fuse box, with the two top ones out of sight.
The lot comes out together with the door.

This is what I thought, the two out of sight screws meaning something else has to be removed first. Oh well, that's another job to put on the list for my nephew

The whole kneepad panel has x2 torx on the left top edge, x2 on the right
inside the hinged down handbook flap opening, one torx screw on the left
hand edge of the carpet and one big T 'popper' fastener clipping the back
edge of the carpet piece onto the pedal frame.
