temp readin on dash??way out

Post by deano1970 »

hi,just another little niggle on my xantia.its a 2.0hdi (2000,x reg). the temp reading for the dash which is supposed to give me a clue how warm or cold it is is miles out, although it appears to work.in the winter it was still telling me it was 37-39 degrees outside...lol. but when it really warms up,it reads up into the mid to high 40's. so it's working but the reading is miles out. where is the sensor for this? i heard it's in the wing mirror, and is it easy to replace? thanks

It will be the sensor in the passengers side front door mirror, look for a bump underneath.
