It depends on a few things, Where you are for one, if your in the UK there are a number of members that have them (im one of them) that will plug cars in, all you need to do is let us know where you are.
They are avaiable on bay of the E for anything from £150 upwards, you will also need a laptop with USB and windows XP but that depends on how much you are willing to pay and how much of a DIY spanner you are.

What should you look out for as I have heard that some are knockoffs?

Is this a Lexia 3 by the way? As there are loads of them for not very much.
C'est pas possible!

The one I bought was a LEXIA 3, it came with the unit, USB cables, 16 pin OBD 11 plug and the older 32 pin adaptor plug plus LEXIA and Peugeot Planet software, only tried it on my C5 but works fine, had no problems setting it up either. I paid £200 for it but it was a UK supplier and arrived the next day. I could have got the same? (less the 32 pin adaptor) from hong kong for £139 but decided that might be asking for trouble.
I use a basic Laptop (celeron CPU with 1Gb ram) and windows XP

Here is a link to the one I bought

You can buy the real LEXIA but they would be a bit more I think plus they would be well USED.

Agreed, some of the codes are confusing but it does seem to give alot of information in plain talk as well.

This is the sort of info you get-

Most Lexia's are fakes (Chinese clones). I doubt a non dealer could buy one directly and then the price would be into four figures. Mine's a clone.

A lexia can produce a barrel load of data but the question is, what can you do with it?

Where does one find the information of what is within normal parameters and what needs looking at? It's all very well knowing that an injector is giving 5 pico litres per rev (I'm making that up!) but what does it mean?

Yes the service light would normally illuminate with an airbag fault.

In order to understand what that data means and how to determine what is right or wrong you need the Citroën diagnostic manual for that particular model/system you are testing.

Hmmmm, and how easy is it to obtain one of those I wonder.
