Ciroen xzara headlights

Post by woodlas08 »

I have a 2003 xzara estate. All the lights normally work ok but sometimes when the direction indicator stalk is operated the headlights come on on dip and the headlight indicator on the dash flashes on and off. Usually the fault clears by pushing the indicator stalk. Could it just be a worn switch or are the electronics at fault?

It will almost certainly be a faulty switch, on your Xsara you have the type of switch known as the COM2000 which is a combined light & wiper switch unit, airbag rotary connector & remote plip reciever. Unfortunitely as you have probably guessed they are quite expensive (well new anyway) & there are also loads of variations aswell.
