replacing the HU in a phase II xsara

Post by fred »

Has anyone replaced the HU in a phase II xsara (mine is from 2003)
The built-in radio RD1 seems to be a bit bigger than the sony I just bought. Are there any known adaptors available ?

The head unit is a standard size behind the oversized faceplate. You can get blanking plates to fill the rest of the space.
A Google search should come up with a few places that stock them.
Then again it looks like the Xsara is the standard size. I've found a few sites with the Xantia adaptor but none for the Xsara.
http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Framepages/car_ ... eframe.htm says facia adaptor is nor required for Xsara.

Have you tried Citroen? they do a nice adaptor for a ZX complete with flap for about £10 including VAT. halfords may do one as well but best of luck trying to find the info on their website - it may be there but when I was looking for a ZX one I couldn't get it to search.
Incidentally Halfords price for ZX was about £30 - yes I have got that the right way round.
