Unfortunately for you Ken, the oil is too thick for your delicate fuel system and the strain will most likely break something which then disperses shrapnel through the whole system leading to a very expensive repair bill. Avoid at all costs.
What I would recommend is you try retail bio. AFAIK, there's already up 5% bio in regular diesel sold at the pumps so you're probably already using it. IMO, bio is better for numerous reasons so worth investigating if you can use a higher mix ratio.
Den, Tesco are being a pain, they have a policy NOT to reserve items for customers so an assistant has gone to see what's on the shelf for me as I'm intending to go there asap. Regardless, it could be zero stock when I get there. Ah, just got a reply - she says there's loads at the moment. I'm off to fight the rush hour traffic.

weve been down today and bought 16 bottles =48 litres cost £20
if we had gone to the pump and filled with diesel with that much fuel would of cost between £55-£60 so not a bad saving i love these sort of bargins

Those of us that have already bought theirs have been lucky. As I was at the till, a supervisor had a quiet word in the cashiers ear - but not quiet enough. They (at least Bournemouth Branch) are to limit them to two per customer.
I guess they don't have such a larges stockpile and I was wrong or they can't shift it quick enough to replenish the sudden high demand.

i have a 2.2 HDi so don't get the chance to participate but as i understand Tesco's rule ( i only know this from buying wine) when they have a special offer on items, if they have none left in stock you can still place an order at the discounted price and they are obliged to supply it at that price up to the date the offer expires. i have done this with cases of wine before and they always fill my order, it's their rule.
why oh why did i buy a C5.

If you read the posts above you'll see they're quite happy to cancel any such order for veg oil.sijrayner wrote:but as i understand Tesco's rule ( i only know this from buying wine) when they have a special offer on items, if they have none left in stock you can still place an order at the discounted price and they are obliged to supply it at that price up to the date the offer expires. i have done this with cases of wine before and they always fill my order, it's their rule.
From my experience, it seems Tesco branches are allowed to make their own knee-jerk rules as they see fit to suit whatever agenda it is they have.
