ZX Cuts out when cornering

ZX Cuts out when cornering

Does anyone know what would cause my ZX14i to cut out when cornering only to restart when back in a straight line, any help would be appreciated

<font face='Georgia'>Sounds familiar. If your car is fitted with a distributor then it may be the vacuum operated advance regulator that is faulty. Renewing that part helped when my car suffered from exactly the same you describe.</font id='Georgia'>

Yes, but it can be replaced independently. Just follow a vacuum pipe coming from the inlet manifold and see if there is a something that looks like a diaphragm casing at the other end. There may be a solenoid fitted in-line somewhere.

Thanks Paulivil after examining the vacuum advance/retard unit it is faulty due to a broken diaphram, once again Thanks....
