c5 radio beep
Hi, I have a C5 2.0 tdi 110bhp (02), whenever I switch the radio on it works, however there is a loud beep every second, and also the CD player does not work.
Also does anyone know if it is normal for it to be so sluggish? I have also had an old golf tdi estate with 20 less bhp, and it is by far quicker accelerating.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Kieran

2.0HDi 110s arnt very sluggish i wouldnt say, our two are quite lively performers.
Maybe get it on a lexi computer adn see if there are any fault codes in, i had to replace a MAF sensor a few weeks back which was causing it to be much slower than normal.

Take a look on this map and see if there is a member with a Lexia near you, that you could arrange to have your codes read/cleared by.Kieran wrote:Hi yeah I did mean HDI. This one is very sluggish! We have only just purchased it. I will arrange to get it plugged into a lexi computer. Do most garages have this or would it have to be a dealership?
I will post back when I have found the solution.
Cheers

Re: c5 radio beep
Hi Kieran, I got that (on Xantia) when it doesn't have Security Code entered after disconnecting the battery.Kieran wrote:Hi, I have a C5 2.0 tdi 110bhp (02), whenever I switch the radio on it works, however there is a loud beep every second, and also the CD player does not work.
I read elsewhere, it's a clever "function" to test the radio actually works even if you don't have the code - hence the annoying bleep and why the CD won't work. Ergo, enter the code and all should be well.

Re: c5 radio beep
May be something different, C5 radios are hard-coded to the VIN in the BSI and shouldn't - can't have a code entered. After a battery replacement or disconnection the radio should work but will need all the presets reasigning.MikeT wrote:Hi Kieran, I got that (on Xantia) when it doesn't have Security Code entered after disconnecting the battery.Kieran wrote:Hi, I have a C5 2.0 tdi 110bhp (02), whenever I switch the radio on it works, however there is a loud beep every second, and also the CD player does not work.

A loud beep, apparently from under the dash, fixed by disconnecting the battery:

Sorry about that, i really should re-read things once i have typed them!Dommo wrote:The computer system is called a Lexia, just so you don't sound like a weirdo asking for a lexi!
If it really isnt performing right, a code should have been stored, a Lexia will be able to tell you what is wrong, if anything.

When the radio bleeps when its switched on it means that its not coded into your car (probally been swapped over) dealer only very easy repair it just needs vin code putting in.
Sluggish take the bottom hose of your intercooler and let it stand for a good few hours and watch all the oil come out of intercooler and hose replace pipe and give car a drive
