Bought a 2009 C5 2.0HDi Exclusive Auto.
Hi all.
I'm a Ford man through and through. I've had 5 Mondeos and currently in my garage sits a 3 year old 3.0V6 GhiaX that's covered just 19000 miles. I've had it two years.
But now it's time to change and Ford have made the Mk4 Mondeo more sporty, the higher up the range you go you get bigger alloys and sports suspension and bucket seats with limited adjustment. On the motorway it's all wind and road noise with the big alloys thumping over ridges. The sloping seats give me back ache after an hour in them.
So just searching for something more comfortable and stumbled across a C5 review, booked a test drive and the rest is history.
On May 11th I pick up a Storm Grey C5 2.0HDi Exclusive Auto thats a year old and done 13k miles. I'm looking forward to the ride quality, refinement, the silky smooth auto box and most of all the 14 way electric adjustable seats.
My first Citroen so not sure what to expect from the dealers or from the C5 in terms of reliability but early reports suggest it's a very reliable car.
Cheers

Dealers rang today and the DVLA have not returned my documents for my private plate yet so Tuesday is touch and go.
I can't wait to get it and had booked Tuesday off work.
Might be Thursday now.
Days seem to be going very slow at the moment.
Oh and as I'm selling my Mondeo I've been giving it a bit more welly than usuall so the economy has dropped to 20mpg
Cheers

Looking at what's available on the used market I'd say the split is pretty much 50/50 between coil sprung versions and hydractive cars. The SX and VTR cars have a coil sprung chassis and the Exclusive has hydractive but any automatic SX and VTR cars get the hydractive as well.
On the Citroen Select list there seems to be a very large number of auto's, infact looking at 2.0HDi's there are more auto's than manuals for sale.
I suspect this is due to Citroen pushing the C5 upmarket where auto's are prefered.
Most of the lower spec cars have the 1.6HDi but I found it to be a little underpowered.
Cheers

Noticed the Rover reference in your sig, I had a 75 many years ago with the 2.5KV6 and Jatco 5 speed auto. The C5 diesel auto actually feels stronger and smoother than the 75.
