Exclusive HDi Towbar electrics

Post by Edhertz »

Can anyone tell me how to hook up the fog light connector for a tow bar socket? Everything else is ok. The fog lights are in the boot lid so are not easily got at. There is a flat 4 pin socket on the rhs of the boot doing nothing - has this got something to do with it? I've also got to hook up the second socket for the fridge etc some time. Must I run a seperate fused wire from the battery for this or is there something in the vicinity of the boot to hook onto?
Thanks in advance

I've not found anything in the boot area capable of supplying decent aux current; you'll probably need to bring that one along from the battery as suggested.

To run battery charging and a fridge you need a 2.5mm2 wire directly from the battery with a fuse close to the battery. Mine goes from the battery, down the back of the engine, (I've enclosed it in plastic tube), under the car, tucking it into the conduit containing the fuel lines, up over the fuel tank and into the cargo area, coming through the large grommet under the rear seat. The battery charging and fridge supply is controlled by a Smartcom. Picking up a live supply from the boot area will give very disappointing results.
