wierd imobiliser

hi iv a problem with the imobiliser on my xantia 2.0lt i took battery off on saturday for about an hour put it back on shut bonnet locked car up went back to the car on tuesday went to start it the buttons wont work on pad iv got a red slow flashing light at the top but it wont allow you to imput a code any ideas chaps cheers

If the buttons are being ignored on the keypad completely, it sounds like its missing its ignition feed, as if you (with a keypad car) press any buttons on it with the ignition off nothing happens (no beeps etc) at all.

The slow flashing red light is normal to indicate its armed.

Although it may sound silly, check you have actually put all the leads back you have disturbed, if you have a positive supply box near the heavy main positive lead check that too. :)

iv already checked incase iv forgotten to put a wire back on but i will check again this morning thanks for your reply as i say the car was fine until i took the battery off i was putting a standard air box and ducting back on as the car was getting checked by the insurance after some idiot smashed into me

Might be the main (or one of them, I'm not 100% familiar with this model) earth leads.

I can tell you once on a 406 I forgot to put one of the earth leads back after a clutch change :oops: , and that behaved in a similar manner...

It's worth double checking them all, as the only 'cost' is time :)

hi chaps it turned out to be a blown fuse cant understand it thou but it now works cheers
