C5 access code???????? + Lexia3 question

Post by h2ocooler »

Hi All, first let me say a big thanks to Citronut (malcolm) for his help with my CD changer, was nice to meet a fellow forum member.

Now as the title says, does anyone know anything about C5 access codes, whilst with Malcolm on monday we tried to change the Economy mode timer for the battery saving but the Lexia asked for a 5 digit code, looked all through the service booke etc and could not find anything, is it a generic thing or specific to each car?

Does anyone have any experiance with the Lexia3, there are a few on Ebay at the moment and after seeing what can be done on Malcolm's full one Im thinking about getting my own, any help would be great.

As I understand it when you purchase a car new it comes with a couple of cards which have security numbers on them one of which will be for accessing the innermost workings of the BSI I suspect that these are just odd bits of plastic to many owners which soon get lost and never past on, well that seems to have the situation in my case :-(

I understand that if you take the VIN code into your local Cit dealer they will be able to give you this number in exchange for beer tokens.

The 5 digit code its asking for is just for changing BSI configurations & its a code for the Lexia program, it's not specific to the car. The 4 digit security code that comes on the plastic card is for the cars own BSI & is used for programing keys & matching BSI's & ECU's to that specific car.

Did you manage to change the time? I tried to do that to my car, but when I looked in the BSI there was 7 or 8 digits in the field for time. I changed the number to 1500 if I remember that right.
The result was that the car was entering eco-mode in less than a second, so I have to change it back, and now it takes several hours before the car entering eco-mode again.

What number shall I enter to get the time about right?

Mmmmm tried the code in DickieG's post from Wheeler (01134 & 01334) and it says incorrect code, would it be different for the Lexia3?
