C5 CD changer wires??

Post by h2ocooler »

Please help PRETTY PLEASE :D

Anyone know if the C5's all had the connection for a CDchanger under the seat????? I have 2 spare plugs under there, one is blue and one is orange but neither fit the CD changer I have bought. Or do I have to get an adaptor lead for it as the wire seems too short to reach it anyway.

I do have a lead from a Peugeot 406 that will plug into the changer so if anyone has the wiring diagram I can make a lead to work.

C5 CD changers go in the cubby near your right knee. I suspect the spare plugs under the seat might be for electric/heated seats maybe.

Or that is for eaelier cars, facelifted C5s seem to have them under the drivers seat. You might have the wrong changer perhaps?

I think its the right changer, Clarion PU2293B, everywhere I have looked says that is the right one, mine is a 2003.
When you say the changer goes in the cubby by my right knee, do you mean the one in the dashboard that has the airbag disable keyswitch in it? If that is the one then the changer would not fit in it.

Yes, S1 C5s have the CD changer in there usually, its a square looking thing. Never had one in any one ours but i know thats where it fits on the earlier cars.

The CD player down by your right knee on a mk1 C5 is for the SAT NAV map CD (if it's got SAT NAV).

The 6 CD changer on my C5 (2002 mk1) is under the driver's seat.
Cheers, Kev

Thanks Kev, what does the plug for it look like and does it plug directly into the changer or is there an intermediate lead?

The plug I have under my seat isnt anything like the one on the back of the changer. My changer came with a lead about 1.5 meters long that plugs in the back of the radio and then changer but doesnt go anywhere else so I have routed this through the dash and under the seat.

Indeed, where would one put the Werthers Originals if it wasn't for that?
