Offside rear tyre wearing down fast

Post by cox377 »

Hello Guys

I've noticed that the offside rear tyre is wearing down a on the outer rim. This is second tyre I've put on in about 2 months. I know I drive swiftly but it's getting silly.

there looks to be scrapping on the actual tyre.. loads of little slices in the rubber.

Can I assume this is a worn bush or something?

What car is this on?

Could it be catching something in the wheel arch as the wheels is moving over bumps?

Have you had a 4 wheel alignment check?

Previous posts would suggest it's a Xantia. In which case, most likely to be the trailing arm bearings at fault - the tyre is probably rubbing on the inner wing, hence the damage to it.
