As Chris already said the camber on the C5 often appears ok even when the bearings are bunched. Almost all rear suspension cracks, bangs, creaks, groans and maybe several other types of noise are caused by failed trailing arm bearings. The time to repair them is the most expensive part. I use generous amounts of ordinary multi purpose grease and bearings that I replaced often lasted longer than the originals. The bearings and seals are available from GSF at very modest prices. The same ones were used in the Xantia hatch, the BX, the C15 van and the Peugeot 305.
