Is there much/any difference between Citroen OE LHM fluid and the same stuff made by Comma/Millers etc??
Any brands that are a no-no
cheers.

Nope, the only difference is in the colour of the dye, some brands are more yellow than predator blood green

I have to disagree, the cheaper brands are of a slightly thinner viscosity. This does not seem to cause problems on BX's I have had, nor on my XM (sinker with FDV) however I had problems with the thinner stuff in a Xantia, provoking a buzz that could be felt through the brake pedal.
Essentially, if it is for a Xantia I would recommend Total or Bendix brands.

never had any issues in any of my xantias with comma.
don't see how the viscosity would effect the doseur valve

I discovered the buzz on my Xantia after changing the LHM for a cheap brand.
Following this posting I made http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... ht=#176473 as can be seen Martin of Pleiedes suggest the cheap LHM as a potential cause, and following replacing the LHM with Total LHM the buzz disappeared.

I've got Hydraflush in at the moment, which is a lot thinner than LHM, and I get the "buzz", (which actually sounds more like me after pie, peas and two pints of Speckled hen) now and then. Goes if I press the pedal harder.
See what it's like when I've put LHM back in next month.
Which suppliers do Total LHM, as my mate with the garage in Crewe, and the owner and user of two BXs, would like to buy a 25ltr barrel, and it's difficult to get these days, especially at a reasonable rate per ltr.

Opie Oils do a Motul LHM, couldn't say if that is any good or not - perhaps oilman would comment on that when he looks in?
Castrol also make it. GSF may have it, Andyspares used to.
Interesting anyways.
It will now be Total for me too. I've been using Morris Oils
stuff from GSF........No bother. It's hard to imagine a good oil supplier cannot stay within the viscoscity spec?
