Retro fitting heated seats in a Xantia

Post by gadgetgricey »

Found a set of leather seats on e-bay that are heated (not electric) that I'm considering buying.

Aware the current seats have a connection block underneath that does not seem to be doing anything, but just wondered the work involved in getting the wiring sorted for the heaters to work as well.

As always any advice/help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If possible you want to get as much of the loom from the donor car as possible including the switches that control the temperature.

It depends on what model your xantia is as to whether the wiring will be in place already. If so it becomes much easier!

More details on donor and recipient would be useful.
Its fairly straightforward though, i put exclusive (heated leather) seats in my lx.

Just found the seats on ebay i think, they are electric.
They look good, and reasonably priced.
They will probably have side airbags, which unless your xantia has then you will not be able to use, but the rest of the seat will be fine!

There is another set on ebay that are not electric, without side airbags... Looking very nice.

Either way, get the harnesses at least back to the heat controls.

Let us know if you get them, there are a couple of other bits on that car I would like to put to good use.

Somewhere I did a little write-up on this very subject but yes, get the whole loom right back to the cabin fusebox... Get too the rheostats and the coin tray as yours may not have the cut-outs in it for the rheostats.

I'll see if I can find my original article...
