C5 interior heater fan

C5 interior heater fan
I'm encountering some strange problems with a C5. The interior fan isn't working, I've tried testing the fan and it works fine, i tried a control panel (actually tried 3) as i was told there was i fault in them, but the last one I tried I know worked in the donor vehicle! As far as I know this car is not one with climate control. Going by some of the other posts, I believe this is not an uncommon fault. Any ideas where I go from here?
I used to have a black '92 BX GTi 4x4; I wonder where it went?
