Presumably this would work on the c5 also. They are bad for the trailing arm bearing going. All these newer cars are going to be murder when they get to the almost banger status that a lot of us on here run. Could it help on my current banger 206? They have a reputation for knackered rear axles too, and I am certainly not fit to change them. A small job just now whacking in grease nipples could save me told hassle later.

Drilling the casting is simple but will not do a lot to get lube into the bearings due to the plastic tube and spacers inside, BXers used to drill the throughbolt part way through from the head and then a cross drilling to get grease inside and between the bearings.
BXs since 1993 built 1.9 TZD turbo, got a S2 Xantia estate, brilliant car! 2013, Xantia HDI LX 110 2000 new car with 122,000, l C2 HDI Rusty rocket, C3 Picasso HDI new to me.

I also suspect that the grease is not the full story. The bearings do not move a lot and you get local loading weight which adds to the fail.
I am a firm believer (having seen a set in one of my cars) that doing a full session as often as you can remember of Citroen Aerobics helps rotate the bearings within the cage and also "spreads" the grease to the whole circumference of the race.
A direct consequence of the Non-Sinker design and the higher weight of the C5 ?

Will not fix anything if its clunking, that has well gone and needs doing.,...I just think it must help slow the day as bearings need to work to stay alive or they dry.
