O/S drive shaft on xantia HDi

Post by scoles »

As above, my intermediate bearing is sounding rough so looking to replace the shaft.

Phoned dingbro and they say theres 2 types depending on how many splines the inner shaft has.

So my question is does anyone know this before i have to go and remove the shaft to find out.

I would prefer to know becuase they only have one type of shaft in stock.

Any helop is much appreciated.

The car is quetion is a xantia 2.0 HDi 2001 X plate hatchback

Thanks

You should have asked yesterday, I had an off side HDi shaft out from the box trying to sort a ABS Ring out on CV joint, why did I remove it? I was going to fit a later FAT SHAFT from an XUD, but even these are slightly smaller to the HDi shafts...

Incidentally, that intermediate shaft from the box to the bearing is feather light! I think they are hollwed out!

Defenatly half the weight of the older XUD shafts!

Ah i was going to ask yesterday but thought i would find it on here somewhere, or the net...

I have found something somewhere that fits citroen dispatch Mpv

Internal spline count 37
External spline count 27
ABS teeth 48
Compressed length 941mm

I was thinking on calling them back and seeing if this resembles the one they have in stock.

Hi,

You could try using the citroen-service site, put in your VIN number and then you can get car specific spares info. Check the part number it gives for a drive shaft for your car against what your supplier thinks he can offer.
