I personally did what Peter N suggests.

What I do is fit an allen key into the hole, get a deep drive socket thats a tight fit on the allen key, fit an extension bar to that, and then try to undo it. What I find is that when it does start to go it makes a god awful squealing sound so don't be alarmed if that does happen.

You need a decent allen key too, or you twist the end off :( :?

will give it a go in the morning, ordered part and bought some decent allen keys
just need to get the seals for the pump from the dealer

would the leaking pump cause there to be no power steering??( or very little)
or could the pump just not be working??
can i check anywhere else

also will the pump off a 1.9td fit a 2.0hdi??

If air has got in yes.. or possibly

A car equpit with Anti sink will stay up if system pressure remains below a certain perssure, this is because the anti sink valves stay shut keeping the suspension up..

The only other detection of no pressure is NO brakes...

have done the seal, and it has not made a great deal of difference to the steering
still stiff
