Xantia HDI , centre exhaust section identification ?

Post by HDI »

Need to get a new exhaust centre section but can't seem to find the correct type on ebay !
The one fitted to the car has a centre silencer box but the ones for HDI's on ebay are just a simple pipe ! The ones listed with a centre box are for 2.0 petrols , had mine been fitted with one of these in the past by mistake ?
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(
My past Citroens :-
'00 Xantia SX HDI, now dead due to accident :(
'99 Xantia HDI 110 Exclusive, RIP :(
'97 Xantia TD SX
'96 Xantia TD LX
'96 ZX TD
'89 BX TD
'88 AX GT
'79 CX2400 Pallas (scrapped :( )
& a couple of Peugeots !

Bosal catalogue here: Xantia HDi Exhausts

Looks like the 90 always used the same exhaust, but the 110 moved away from a centre silencer at RP 8407. Looks like the ones on e-bay are the later type - no reason why it shouldn't fit, but the repair pipe is much cheaper, and could be made to fit without the cat with a bit of MIG action!

Sorted this today , bought a Bosal repair section from a local motor factor.
Removed the old centre pipe which includes a silencer and was the original Citroen part !! Cut off the pipe at the silencer box that connects to the cat which is then used to couple to the new repair section. This does not have a centre box. All installed like a breeze :) As far as I can tell there is negligible increase in exhaust noise despite no centre box.
Just a note , the Xantia HDI 110 has a 60MM diameter system , the 90 has 54MM.
