Any tips on taking the COM 2000 apart?

Post by GB »

Hi,

Has anyone got any tips on taking the C5 COM 2000 apart? Is it easy to dismantle and then rebuild? Any photos available?

I need to get access to the indicator stalk switch inside the unit - it seems that the left turn indicator spring is really worn out, sometimes refusing to cancel the indicator/return in to the neutral position.

Maybe there is a way to swap the right and left indicator springs around. It also feels like it needs a little grease as well.

BTW, brand new COM 2000 for my particular car is £381.22.

Cheers,

Thats a massive price! How is yours so expensive?

I thought they were all a similar price, some have different functions depending on if you have a rear wiper, foglights etc, but on the whole they are very similar?

Cruise and radio stalks dont come with the com 200 unit either.

I paid £170 for mine 2 months ago, from a citroen dealer. Have they priced the right part? Seems a huge difference.

Didnt happen to get a part number for the £381.22 one did you?

Correction: the price is actually £277.62 and the part number is 00006242S5. The price comes from Citroen Service catalogue.

Still, even if it was only £50 I would still prefer to fix it myself than just simply replace it.
