De cat a Xantia 110Hdi
I've had to start a new thread as I've just discovered that my 90bhp is actually a 110bhp ( I've had access to Citroens DocBackup software)
So I hope the previous thread
http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... highlight=
which identified that a 90bhp could be de catted with a -1997 19.TD exhaust was useful for someone.
My question now is, Has anyone de catted a 110? I understand the 90's exhaust is a smaller bore to that of the 110
After numerous repairs to the bend in front of the cat, I've been told "it won't weld again" and is now blowing.
I need a pipe from the manifold to the middle box minimum or I would think about trying to take out the middle box and route to the back box.
Has anyone done that? And can you point me in the direction of an exhaust supplier please?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
PS I'm really confused now as I was told years ago by the Citroen dealer that mine was a 90.. I have been insuring it as a 90 as all the insurance sites have it as a 90 .. and now have just discovered a forum that suggests that the Citroen DocBackup service is not always accurate.. is there a visual check I can do to ascertain whether its a DW10 or DW10ATED.... confused!!!!

Mine was de-catted prior to me buying it, it has a straight through section of pipe welded into where the cat normally sits.
If yours is a 110 it will have an intake pipe between the engine cover and air filter as per this photo of my HDi

90bhp exhausts do NOT fit 110bhp engines,
The 110bhp outlet is bigger! I know, becuase I tried it.. also de-catting a derv has much less effect then a petrol engine..
The 110bhp xantia here was de-catted before it fell it pieces, never failed an emiisions test yet!

You can buy a repair section for the 110 exhaust for <£20, which is the dogleg part behind the cat, it should be possible to buy one of these and cut it and weld it in in place of the cat. This is what I am proposing to do when the exhaust gives out one mine (probably not that far away....) - the single piece exahust inc cat from the manifold to the rear box costs nearly £400

Thanks Richard,
Do you know where I can buy the pipe?... I've looked through the Bosal catalogue and haven't seen anything.
Cheers,
Chris

I notice your location is listed as near aberdeen - have you tried contacting Reid 4 Speed

I decated my 806 HDI (110bhp) years ago.
I just removed the cat / downpipe
sawed out the cat
replaced it with a straight bit of pipe from Partco
To join the pipes I put (from memory) about 8 cuts into the end of each pipe about 1" deep, crushed one end down a bit by squashing the saw cut gap to nothing, splayed the other end out a bit and then rammed one end into the other.
Pipe clamp around each and and the job's done.
On the 806 it's easy because the input and output from the cat are inline and straight.
On my old Passat TDI it was much harder because I had to get someone to bend some pipe to the same shape as the all-in-one downpipe/cat thing.
