Oil change C5
Hi,always service me car with 10w40 semi syn, but in manual it says 5w30 energy saver can be used Total future 9000,i have found some on ebay 3 x 5ltr for £60 which i dont think is bad. Any one used this oil in a C52.0hdi and what do u think ?
I would say that`s a good winter oil the 5w 30. 10w40 in semi synth diesel oil is fine all round really for the HDI in UK climate. I think it`s about 11 quid per 5ltres at GSF............it`s Fuchs oil and very good.

If it's a C5 it'll be a solid flywheel.davo77 wrote:Just going off topic a friend has an 02 plate 110hdi and the clutch has gone will this have a dmf? I have told him about the valeo replacement flywheel kit,his car has done 92k. Thanks

Mine had a DMF and was replaced with the same last year.Paul-R wrote:Dunno. Now that's interesting - and worrying. I was told that PhI 2.0l HDis didn't have a DMF. Now you've made me fear for my wallet.myglaren wrote:Mine had a DMF and was replaced with the same last year.

Nope, they do have a DMF, i know i worry too. I spend a lot of time in crawling traffic and im constantly worrying about the effects that will have on its DMF.
My SX C5 had a replacement clutch at 70K miles as the DMF gave up, even though the friction plate was aparently bearly touched. Ive read it before that they tend to fail around that mileage. That one was replaced with a solid conventional flywheel, its still going well at 120K miles.
My VTR C5 is just about to turn onto 70K miles, but the clutch feels fine, very nice. Our previous C5 estate had 104K miles when the clutch friction plate was changed through wear, though the DMF was still fine.
Not really sure what defines how long it lasts, but most cars have them now, even petrols, so its something we have got to get used to i guess.

Mine has now done 150,000 miles!
I've no idea whether it has already had anything done as I got it at 85k. I have his sinking feeling in my pocket...
