Picasso 2.0 HDI continued!

Post by Lawrence1973 »

Really had no luck tracking down this strange sound.

Crank pulley looks almost brand new, aux belt has seen better days but the sound isn't audible from the belt or the engine bay.

I have noticed a few oil leaks - one accumalation of oil under the air con compressor, oil around the breather on top of the gearbox (is this bad?)!
The gearbox does sound a bit louder than I'd expect.

Is there anything neutral in the gearbox that would make the whining sound? It makes no difference pressing the clutch.

Just to add to the fun, the dash lights go dim when I turn the headlights on!

Any thoughts?

Sounds normal to me as the dash will cause glare if it didn't.

How right you are, just read the manual.

It was on the lowest setting - when I turned the lights on before it looked like an earth fault!

Always read the instruction manual
