Xantia heater blower

Post by mark21td »

Please help, my heater blower has stopped working.
It stopped yesterday, but started again by it's self 2 mins later.
Tonight it has just stopped and will not work at all (in manual or auto),
I've had a quick look at the red wier that feeds the blower but it looks fine and is not loose.
It's a VSX so has climit control and A/C.
Any more ideas guy's.

You need to do the relay mod, your ignition switch has burnt out to a level that can no longer handle the current that the blower draws.
There's plenty of threads on what you need to do, and it's not hard :)

You didn't say if your Rear heated screen wasn't working either?

If thats not working either, then DENENATLY the Relay mod needed..

If the Heated Rear window is still working then (given the age of the car) could be the brushes and/or dirty/worn commutator. Just had the same problem with mine.

Heated rear window not working is only a confirmation that the ingition switch is badly burnt out, that's all.
Even if the rear heater works, the blower can still not be getting enough current to turn and need the relay mod.

Not sure if the rear screen was working or not, but the relay mod is now done and all is well (that was a fun job in the dark).

I got three relay's so I can do the headlight's as well but I'll do them in the daylight.

Do I need one per light or can I use one for the dip beem and one for main beem ?

One for dip and one for main will be fine Mark. Make a heck of a difference. My Activa has been done and my V6 is waiting until I get a "roundtuit"...

One of those jobs that has been waiting for yonks. As soon as the lighter nights come along I guess I'll get it done
