odd radio code

Post by Blackdog »

about a year ago I posted a thread requesting help with radio code.. a year on and a very usefull link being set up with an online calculator made me think it would be pretty straight forward to get the code for my new xantia...the problem is that you get at least 3 codes to try and most probably one of them will work it did the last time however the radio I have now is a 4035 and although the preset buttons are numbered 1-6 like the old ones if I am given a code with a number more than 6 the system wont accept it.....because button one is number one button 2 number 2 and so on....is it the case that a radio system 4035 can only have a code between the numbers of 1-6 and if so how can I get it from the link that has been set up when they give me numbers beyond 6 which I cant input to the system without it locking...work that one out!!

Radios on 1999 Xantias have a completely different code system to ealryer radios.

Series 1 radios to 1998 are Blaupunkt, which can be decoded on line and a code from 0001 to 9999, were as S2 radios can only have codes from 0001 to 6666 and need the code reading from thechip memory and not calculated from the serial code..

unfortunally goto the dealer with the reg and spend about 20 quid, or send your radio to me to do!

Or get in touch with this chap

restoredclassic@aol.com

you'll need all the info from the stickers on the unit, only asks for a small paypal donation to provide with a code. Sorted mine out in a few hours. The car is a w reg (2000) with a philips radio but he can do other makes also.
