C2 injector seal replacement

Post by c.morewood »

I have the "chuff chuff" sound of a leaky injector seal.
The main dealer wants over £400 to replace the seals.
I think this a bit over the top for 4 seals which cost about a tenner.
Has anyone done this job?
Could you tell me if there are any other parts I need to order, besides the seals and the plastic injector holder, which may be neccessary?
Any special tools etc.?

Thanks in advance
Chris

Did you have any luck with fitting it yourself or did you get a garage to do it. I have the same problem and can't find a post telling you what you need to do it and most of all how to do it.
Any help is much appreciated as the chuffing noise and smell coming through the vents is driving me mad.

check your PM's Mark
Did it myself.. relatively simple... shouldn't cost you more than a tenner for seals and guides .. no books to help.

The 1.4 engine is a bit more awkward than the 1.6. Best advice is to get the engine as hot as you can before starting the job, as it makes the injector removal easier, due to softening of the "coal"
