AfterMarket Warranties

Does anyone have experience of After Market Warranties. Are they worth the papaer they are written on or should you avoid?

Only anecdotal but although I have heard a lot of negative comments on them, I have yet to hear a positive one.

The general consensus is that they will always use the fine print to weasel out of paying up.

Thats my experience too. There always seems to be an escape clause for them.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(
My past Citroens :-
'00 Xantia SX HDI, now dead due to accident :(

Don't touch 'em with a bargepole. Never seen one yet that was worth the paper it was written on, too many negative stories and of course we used to sell our own version when I was in trucks........I've seen it all mate.

Either buy the car cheap and allow for things to go wrong, or examine the owner and the service history, and still allow for things to go wrong.

They are an insurance policy and like any insurance policy you'll end up paying more in the long run.

The ones I have seen have a longer list of what they don't cover (i.e. anything likely to break) than they do cover.
