C5 central locking

Post by reacher »

How does this sound? I press me key fob to unlock the car and the boot pops open, so I have to shut the boot before driving. When I stop and switch off the engine and try to open the boot it won't. I have to lock - then unlock the car again and of course the boot pops open and I'm in. Some times the boot pops open when I just open an unlocked door. What can I do? I have opened this topic before but it sort of fizzled out!

Sounds like a dodgy boot microswitch. try disconecting the switch & see if it still does it.

My C5 occasionally misbehaves in such a manner.

The boot (mines an estate BTW) will pop open when I unlock the car. It'll also do it when I open the door from the inside - it's right royal PITA!

Having said that after a few days it "heals" and will wait another 3 - 6 months before acting up again.

See if it goes in a few days.

wheeler, how do I get to this switch and won't I lock my self out of the boot if it's micro switch is disconected?

Paul-R, it has done this for maybe eight months and it never takes a day off!

You need to take the tailgate trim off to get to it.
There is a little hole in the boot latch that alows you to open it manually with a small screwdriver if you go in through the back seats.
