In the process of replacing my gearbox after a clutch job I've damages what looks like a seal and a steel ring just inside rhs driveshaft input. Is this seal removable and how do you remove it in order to replace it?
Cheers Gavin

With the shaft out obviously, simply get a screwdriver or similar bar that wont bend and lever it out, be carefull not to score the housing it sits in or you will cause a leak that will be difficult to stop.
The right hand seal has a protector built in to help prevent damage of the oil seal lip as the shaft is inserted, which should be done carefuly, left and right seals are not interchangeable.
The new seal must be driven in squarley and to the same depth as the one you remove.
