i can confirm that, they need 12v to run and its a pulse of sorts, ax's and saxo's use exactly the same one.

Failed again....
-
Think I'll swap out, just to eliminate. (GSF seem to have them at £38 + vat....not sure if compatible yet...awtg response from them)
-
Will allow as much g/cox oil to drain out of sensor hole prior to fitting.(wonder how low this REALLY is really is compared to fill plug height)
-
Will let you know result.
-
Many thanks all your attention/time

the best way to make sure you have the corect amount of oil in the gear box, is to drain the box and the diff, fully, then put back in 2lt's of the corect BV spec gear oil,

as i belive if you had oil comming out of the speedo port yopur box is well over filled,

if over filled by to much you can end up with oil on your clutch,

i think the pinion gear just slide out/in of the transducer unit, as it dise with the speedo drive unit from a cable drive speedo,

i would still ensure you have the correct quantaty of gear oil in your box, as IMO it should not come out that orafiss on level ground when removeing the transducer,

Have a look at the bottom two pictures on this page.

This shows the speed sensor and the drive pinion.

It is an autobox shown in the pictures but a manual is much the same.

Thanks Jim.

Think I will drive car for while to warm up oil, + remove fill plug to let it drain down to this level.
