Xantia radio

Post by jemboyd »

Can someone tell me what the devil is wrong with my Xantia radio? Every time I switch on the engine I have to re-enter the code - there has been the odd occasion or two when I haven't had to, but 99% of the time I have to. The presets work sometimes, and then one finds all memory of presets gone and the search feature just runs up and down the band without stopping at any station (signal is good). Then the following day it may work normally and accept the presets. I also notice the 'loudness' feature only works sometimes.[|)]

don't have experience of a Xantia radio in particular but I expect that on the connector plug(s) there will be a feed that is permanently live [even when the ignition is off] specifically to keep the memory alive. it sounds as though there is a poor connection on this feed somewhere in its length and the effect to the radio is as if the battery has been disconnected. if you can source a manual for this model it should identify which connector and pin to test.
