Xsara 2002hdi poor starting
I have a 2002 2.0 hdi 110hp. Recently the car has started badly first thing in the morning. It starts for a second then stops,it will do this once or twice then finally start and smoke for a couple of seconds. Then it will run perfectly. I can then leave the car outside in freezing conditions for over 8 hours and it will start first thing no problem. Anyone any ideas please?

Just an of-the-wall thought.
Is your outside air temperature reading correct? If the ECU thinks that it's blazing hot then it won't switch the glowplugs on. If the temperure readings are sometimes correct then this could give your intermittency in starting.
