buzzing noise

Post by mikey_mike »

hi all
2002 c5 estate , problem is a buzzing noise coming from drivers side rear wheel arch, something like a relay sticking, cant see anything amiss, wondered if any of you techie types would have a clue what is. it's not very loud and happens even when the car is switched off and locked.

And if it is, then there is a fault, should be inactive with the car locked.

See this thread (no conclusion yet though).

Is the noise inside or out? My HDi is fitted with a towbar which has the additional socket for charging a fridge etc when pulling a caravan, just after turning off I can hear a relay clicking on and off for a while. I investigated where the noise was coming from (O/S/R) and discovered a relay box of tricks associated with the auxiliary socket so left it alone.
