Hard rear supension

Post by XantiaDaveEire »

So after changing the rear spheres and topping up on LHM and doing a good round of citrobics i dont notice any differance in comfort ,if anything the rear feels even harder  ..the only thing i can say is that it self levels a little bit quicker  ...

What could be causing this ?the accumulator sphere? All the LHM in the system is stilll a healthy green.. ... And if that wasnt enough my heater blower has a mind of its own just recently, working sometimes but more often than not theres not a kick out of her :(

Is it a VSX (hydractive), if so you may have some valve trouble.

Where did you get the sphere's from and what part number's are they? I suspect you have Hydractive sphere's on a non-Hydractive car.

Re the heater fan are you having problems at any set speed or just on auto? Is the motor running but little output from the vents or is the motor just not running?

Ooh, have they given you the right spheres, if you got hydractive ones then there harder than normal ones.

If you can post the part numbers up and I'm sure someone will tell you if there the right ones or not.

DickyG you type quicker than I do

they are non hydractive spheres ,i dont have the parts numbers to hand but i bought them off GSF i have hydractive spheres on the front which works a treat..this wouldnt cause any trouble surely?

As for the heater  there is not a kick out of it on all settings ..it was working yesterday when i got into the car, went into the shop ,came back out and nothing from it ..its been like this recently working very rarely

You should certainly have an uncomfortable and harsh ride with hydroactive spheres on the front.

Can you read the numbers from the front and rear spheres so we can give more useful advice.

As mentioned above Hydractive front sphere's on a non Hydractive car will give a harsh ride.

With the heater fan, check the connection of the large red wire onto the motor, it carries a large current and is prone to corrosion.

Check your suspension movement by bouncing the rear, you should have "4 - 6" of movement with new spheres, if you havn't either the spheres are faulty or the ride height is not correct and its hitting the bump stops.

It doesn't state on the GSF list on the internet whether 45366 is hydractive or not.

all tyres ,pressure everything is fine...does the accumulator sphere control the pressure for the whole car as i suspect that this needs replacing ,but the front is soft and only the rear is hard...so frustrating  ..feels like the tyres are over inflated

If the rear is riding at the correct height, the pressure must be correct. I think low blood sugar might be the problem :D
