Not central to the film.

Our Xantia Estate had a non-speaking part in The Holiday - giving Cameron Diaz (in a Metro) a fright passing at speed in a narrow Surrey lane. No, it wasn't me driving - any more than Cameron Diaz was. The whole sequence last about 12 seconds!

I haven't a clue, never seen anything like it before, as far as I can recall.
It does seem to be a bit of a bodge, none of the doors or windows close properly and the filler looks a bit out of place.
It does have genuine looking instruments and a single spoke steering wheel though.
It is likely a 2CV that has been 'doctored'

There was a shot through the driver's window but I appear not to have uploaded that one and I'm not on the computer with the photo's on now either.

Will bung it up later.

I bought her from the 'vehicle wrangler' who supplied the cars for the film. He had bought her out of the local (to the studio) paper because the script called for "a green estate car comes down the lane...". One owner from new, every possible extra, FDSH, 67K (in April 2006). Actually a 95MY run-out, so sun-roof instead of A/C, no engine ECU or emmissions nonsense. Exactly what I was looking for.

The car in Steves photo's is a Citroen Bijou.

The Bijou was a fiberglass body car built in Slough at the Citroen factory, there was not many made and it was based on the 2cv with the early 425cc engine, made I think in the early 60's

Martin.

Its a Bijou which was made at the Citroën factory in Slough in the early 60's, they have a plastic body (not sure if it was fibreglass) placed over a 2CV chassis, they were intended to appeal to the female market but weren't very successful.

Nowadays they are quite sought after for their rarity value and one as together as that one looks would command quite a decent price, after all standard 2CV prices are on the up for a car that in even standard form has a very enthusiastic following.

Ronin with Robert DeNiro. There is a very exciting chase with an XM as the vehicle being chased.

There are a couple of ZX's as police cars.

The PERFECT THEIF, with Nick Noltie! Based in France I bought it, for XM reasons, but its VERY slow film and a bit actionless and boring..

XM Is in a few times and doesn't get damged either, from what I remember..
