Xantia Mk1 TD Rev Counter Fault

Hi,

Just bought a Mk1 Xantia TD Estate and have noticed a strange fault with it.

When the engine is on the overrun, the rev counter drops to zero. Works perfectly the rest of the time.

Anyone any ideas?

Hi Wainy,

Do a search on this Forum for REV COUNTER, under "search for all terms". This will throw up quite a few recent hits which you should find useful - hopefully get you started with tracing the problem

Hi Wainy,

I had a similar problem on mine, but it just didnt work

The problem with mine was the crank sensor located down the back of the engine. Was easy to change, and for me thats saying something

and GSF and other places sell them.....they arent dear. Make sure you get the right one though if you need one as there are 2 different types
