Xantia Mk1 TD Rev Counter Fault

Post by wainy »

Hi,

Just bought a Mk1 Xantia TD Estate and have noticed a strange fault with it.

When the engine is on the overrun, the rev counter drops to zero. Works perfectly the rest of the time.

Anyone any ideas?

Hi Wainy,

Do a search on this Forum for REV COUNTER, under "search for all terms". This will throw up quite a few recent hits which you should find useful - hopefully get you started with tracing the problem

Hi Wainy,

I had a similar problem on mine, but it just didnt work :P

The problem with mine was the crank sensor located down the back of the engine. Was easy to change, and for me thats saying something :) and GSF and other places sell them.....they arent dear. Make sure you get the right one though if you need one as there are 2 different types
