Berlingo 1.4 with P0300 code (Misfire)

Post by Xen »

My mother has an 04 Berlingo 1.4 Multispace, and has just called me over because the engine management light is on. Stuck my code reader on it and it came up with P0300 - Misfire. Cleared it and gave it a lap of the block. Rescanned it and the code was back.

The misfire is very light, only really noticeable whilst idling. One thing i did notice was a quiet chugging sound from the drivers side wing (presumably the charcoal canister is in there,) Is this normal, or could it be the cause?

Is there anything imparticular i should check first that often causes a misfire on the 1.4?

It had new plugs last month, but the DTC has only just come up so im not sure if thats the problem.

have a look at the plugs, i presume you mean spark plugs, to see if any are a diferent colour, maybe its the coil pack,
