IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A BADLY WORN GEAR LINKAGE COULD CAUSE JUDDER ON LETTING THE CLUTCH PEDAL OUT

Highly unlikely - though a badly worn clutch or badly worn engine mounting will (especially the rear center mounting next to the exhaust).

hi..Is the clutch judder evident on 1st and reverse?? if so, experience suggests its usually a worn clutch plate.

YES IN 1ST GEAR AND REVERSE. HOWEVER THE JUDDER SEEMS TO BE TRANSMITTED THROUGH THE GEAR LEVER AS IT SHAKES WHEN LETTING THE CLUTCH PEDAL UP AND IS WORSE WHEN THE ENGINE GETS REALLY HOT IN TRAFFIC AND NON EXISTANT WHEN ENGINE IS COLD.
THERE IS A LOT OF PLAY IN THE GEAR LEVER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD TO RENEW THE BUSHES IN THE GEAR LINKAGE BEFORE TRYING ANYTHING DRASTIC AND THEY DO LOOK KNACKERED.
HE CLUTCH IS NEW WITHIN THE LAST 9 MONTHS.

My money would be on the engine mounts; that's assuming of course that we aren't talking about a car with little or no oil in the gearbox as these are the symptoms I got in a CX that somebody drained & forgot to refill[V][V][V]
