From the other hand, when I checked my 2006 C5 on http://service.citroen.com acc.to VIN-it reprts "no hydroactive suspension". [-X
It rizes automatically when i start to move, it doesn't level itself when I roll one side of the car on border-shortlly, I am confused.
How can I detect what suspension exactly is installed on my car?:-k ](*,)
Thanks ahead.

Mark,
Silly questions, but........

Have you tried to raise and lower the suspension using the button on the inside?

Is your C5 a saloon or estate?

How is the fluid level?

Have you always had this problem? If not when did it start?

Hi, Steve and thanks for reply!
The car raises and lowers like my Xantia. Of cause by up&down buttons instead of lever. (BTW-favorite buttons of my shnautzer).
No "sport" button.
It is saloon.
Fluid level-did not check yet, i own the car only one week.
So, my questions are:
Is there C5 without Hydroactive suspension?
Where can I find description of hydroactive3 & hydroactive 3+ sysems to check what is installed on my car?

Mark, great, Okay, yes there are some C5's without the Hydroactive suspension, however, because you have the "up and down" buttons, I suspect that this isn't the case with your vehicle.

I asked about the estate because they have a button in the back, for raising and lowering the suspension, and I wanted to elimate that.

Have a look in the hand book it shows in there, (usually in the tray under the passenger seat) if you don't have one try here: http://service.citroen.com

If you have no sport button you have no hydroactive is the way i believe it works. Just like in the Xantia, LX and SX models did not have Hydroactive, but the VSX/Exclusive/Activa ones did and these had the sport button.

C5-I and C5-II have only hydraulic suspension Hydractive 3, no spring suspension.

On this models we can see two variant of Hydractive 3 suspension:

Hydractive 3: - with 2 spheres on front and 2 on back.
and
Hydractive 3+: with 3 spheres on front and 3 on back.

Inside you can see if you have H3+ if you have sport button between up-down button, if you have only up-down button then you have H3.
All C5 with 1.6HDI engine have H3.

Citroen C5-III ( latest model ) have also conventional spring suspension on entry cars, on this cars you can see only Hydractive 3+ and it is reserved for - higher prices.

On the road, the driver enjoys exceptional driving sensations, and the passengers are lapped in comfort. To achieve this, the new C5 offers a choice between two types of suspension: Hydractive 3 Plus suspension or metallic suspension. Both are based on the running gear of the C6 executive saloon.
Kind of gives the game away

If you have no up and down buttons in front of the gearstick then it isn't Hydractive.

For a very odd reason Citroen call all C5s hydractive, however the ones without the sport button are not exactly what you would class as hydractive. Citroen calls the sport models 'Hydractive+', which is hydractive like range topping Xantias and Xms.

With respect they are both hydractive but the + version sport mode will put it into a stiffer regime same as hydroactive 2 on an XM. Both systems do such things as track road surface condition and dynamically alter suspension hight depending on speed and road surface.
