Xantia (Clarion?) radio reset procedure

Post by lolingram »

This is the standard re-set procedure:

"Citroen usually use Clarion in the Xantia. My CD changer is marked Clarion but the radios aren't.

If it's any help, here are the instructions for the 3035 and 4035 units from my handbook.(1999 model)

Finish inputing the wrong code.

Press the BND button until the display shows "CODE IN"

inpute the correct code.

This can be done 4 times before the system locks up.

To unlock, leave radio on for 1 hour.

Start again".

However, since the wrong code was entered into mine, after the CODE IN signal, the first button shows (in my case) 3 vertical bars after the first entered number - not 3. Then, as soon as I try and enter the next number on button 2, a very brief '2' shows istead of 3, before the display reverts to '----', needing 1 hour to return to CODE IN.

Any ideas? Faulty unit?

I had something very similar with an XM a few years ago, I had to leave the power on for 2 hours before it reset. We went for a good run out and it sorted out the problem, worth a try?

Ive had a few of these clarions lock out indefenatly! EVEN leaving on for 3 hours, when I press the BND its locked, a set of 4 lines appear under the middle ones...

I simple then, removed the code chip and replaced it with a code chip I know the code from, out of a broken unit.. problem solved

Not quite the same with mine Paul... I get the CODE IN text after 1hr power on with the double lines, but when I try to enter the correct code, only vertical bars (Roman figures?) show - like 'lll' instead of '3'. This ain't no effing good! Just locks again. Seriously thinking of chucking the standard radio, unless I can find a workaround.....
