Picasso HDI Stop Temperature Light

Hello All,
02 Picasso HDI 2L SX with air con - STOP Temperature light has come on a couple of times (3 or 4 in two months - air con not on at the time), driver stopped, fans at full tilt, waited til fans stopped and then continued on their journey. No leaks and coolant ok, hasn't actually "boiled". Have read different possibities -
Aircon needs regassing, temperature sensor, fan resistors.
Anyone had similiar and what actually fixed it - maybe they need to get it read to see whats up - but don't want to start trying bits trying to get it solved !
