Save a Xantia Exclusive.

Post by DickieG »

Copied across from the CCC forum, I know the seller who is a trader and believe it or not a real Citroen enthusiast but this situation is the harsh economic reality of the times;

"Due to the stupid eBay member markedgr not completing the sale:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MESOX:IT

It will be broken. I know it is criminal but it will make me more money...if you want to buy the whole car let me know quick before i start to strip it.

Everything is there and it is a nice car."

Any takers?

Is he actually saying £510 will buy it though?

Should he put it on ebay with that buy it now I'd still imagine nobody would
buy it as Xantia autos aren't the car everyone wants to pay any money on
if it's not a diesel (even when they're v6 24v's) and it will struggle beyond
this level. When the innevitable does happen and he does scrap it he'll
simply show how mercenary he is despite being an enthusiast as the money
creamed in is nearly always more than the value realised for older Citroens
whatever the prevailing economic conditions.

I hope he cannot live withself scrapping a straight legal 60k mile Exclusive
in a fit of pique and really he's no better than the silver V6 24v scrappage
scheme car breaker everyone feels so angry about elsewhere here in this
forum.

If i had the space id have it!
Will you be breaking it in march as i go back there regularly (this weekend in fact!) and wouldnt mind a few of the bits!

I think 300 for the leathers is perhaps optimistic , mine were £125 and someone was recently selling leathers for £75 here in norwich, but good luck anyway!
